The main findings from a physical model study by Appolus(2019) were used to develop a method that may be used to specify stable riprap D50 for specific design flow rates at steep bed slopes and steep side bank slopes using the HEC-RAS modelling software. An easy to use Excel Design Tool was developed to guide the designer through the process.
